Requirements for Kali Linux?
1 Internet
2 Windows 10 as a base os (3-4GB RAM dual-core)
3 Bootable ISO in a USB 8GB (Live or installer) or cd drive
4 20 to 60GB Unallocated space in the windows partition table
5 For better performance in Virtualbox, HYPER-v should be enabled>


How to Dual boot Kali Linux?

Step 1- Login to windows 10 and plugin the Bootable USB.


Step 2- Create some free space in the partition table
Go to file manager

Right-click on This PC


Click on manage

Click on Disk Management

Look for unallocated space or delete an active partition and create some. (Note: keep backup of all the hard drives before your clear). Simply right-click on any partition apart from C or system drives and click on delete or shrink some free space from a drive.

Step 3- Restart the system
Press the Windows key and click on settings

Click on Update and Security

Click on recovery and then Restart Now

Hold the left shift button on the keyboard after clicking on restart. Do not release the shift key until you get the same screen as shown below.

Step 4- Now click on Use a device.
Select your device you want to boot from, you can see there are various options, it could be different in your case.

Locate your USB stick maker name and click on that. It will start booting itself.

Step 5- Install Kali Linux 2021.1
Now you will be able to see the Kali Linux 2021.1 boot loader. Click on Graphical install

Select your language and click on continue

Select your location and click on continue

Select your keyboard configuration and click on continue

Enter the hostname (for a home network) in the single word no space and hit continue

Leave the domain name option as it is, do not do the change until you know about it, and hit continue

Enter your full name for the new user you can put anything you want. I'll put a new user as same to the hostname and click continue.

Enter the username for the new user and click continue

Create strong password, make it more secure. (Use special characters, lower and uppercase with numbers) click on continue.

Select your timezone (I'll keep it default) and hit continue.

Now the most important one is to create the Partition disk, be careful:
Very first you will see screen something like shown below-

Select Manual and hit Enter key. Scroll down (using the down arrow key on your keyboard) and highlight 62GB FREE SPACE after that hit Enter.

Scroll down and highlight Automatically partition the free space, hit enter.

Highlight All files in one partition (recommended for new users) and hit enter.

Highlight the Finish partitioning and write changes to disk again hit continue.

The prompt shown below is asking for permission to formate the ext4, swap area partition. Simply grade mark yes and hit continue.

Now select the desktop environment. I will go with the most lit DE XFCE. You can choose GNOME or KDE Plasma. Must grade mark the last option Large ...default section plus additional tools and hit enter. It will help you to get all the tools for which you want to install Kali Linux's latest version.

Now you can see that installation has been finished click continue.

Here is the Kali Grub menu and you can see there are two different OS installed, you can decide which one you want to use.
