Follow the steps to fix the sound-related problems in Kali Linux.
Step 1 run commands
Open terminal to update, upgrade and install libasound2, alsa-utils, alsa-oss
$ sudo apt update; sudo apt upgrade
$ sudo apt-get install libasound2 alsa-utils alsa-ossStep 2 Launch alsamixer Launch alsamixer to check if sound system is on mute mode by default.
$ alsamixer
Step 3 mm means mute
If it is visible M as shown in the image below means your system is in a mute state.
Step 4 00 Means unmuted
Press m on your keyboard to unmute. Verify from the image below.
Step 5 Change the sound card
If you are still not getting the sound press f6 on your keyboard to select the sound card. Press the up and down arrow key to choose from and hit enter as shown in the image below
Step 6 Press ESC button
Press Esc key to exit from alsamixer prompt.
Step 7 Fix with boot
Run the command to avoid the same error after reboot
